I never done the sump before, and more Im more comfortable with using canisters. Anyone use the eheim pros? Or should i just get multiple eheim 2217 s?

I have the Eheim Pro II 2028 but would recommend the 2217's for simplicity. What size tank are you filtering?

I agree 2217 are the workhorses ,I have six on variuous tanks huge filter media choices and twenty yrs running not one problem

Dee,

I have a 100g tank. I've looked for the 2028, but it seems rather expensive compared to the 2217. Also, I see that the Eheim Pro 3 are more readily availableI used to have Fluval 403's but it was a pain in the arse to reconnect the valves. Does the 2217 suffer from this?

I noticed you have 2260 and 2262? How do these compare to your Pro II?

I love the 2260 and 2262 filters!!!! They blow the 2028 out of the room, no comparison.

I am using a 2260 and an FX5 on a 125G six foot long tank. I didn't really need the FX5 but the boyfriend bought it new because he didn't know I bought a used 2260.

I am not personally familiar with the Eheim Pro 3 filters at all.

The 2217 filter has individual Quick Disconnect valves on the input & output hoses, it is completely different than the 2028 Pro II and Pro3 model filters.

+1 I have 2 X Eheim 2260's plus a W/D on my 360 Gallon, and a 2260 and a 2217 on my 150 Gallon. 2260 and 2262's IMO are the best filters there are. My buddy owns a LFS and he told the Pro 3 isn't a very worthy filter at all, I trust him because he's always steered me right. Then again I can't personally speak for the Pro 3
