First issue today with the actual electronics part of the Eheim Pro3E 2078 filter today, something that never happened when I used these canisters a few years ago.

If I was at work, I would have had no filters running until 10pm on my new 90G tank (which now has 6-baby-peacock-bass) in it.

There was a major thunderstorm this morning, one very big lighting strike and the whole house lost power for about 3 minutes tops.

After the power came back on I went to check my tank, nothing running but heater and power-head no filters.

UHHH!!:nilly:

I've lost power before a few years back when I had the same models (not these actual filters) on my 150G tank, and the filters always started right back up when the power came back on.

Upon inspection both filters were flashing a single RED LIGHT. I pressed the + and - buttons to adjust flow and NOTHING, filter motor is not even running.

I unplug both wait a few mins, plug em back in, NOTHING solid RED flashing light.

Now I'm getting sick to my stomach. Grab the manual, and do a factory RESET on the electronics by holding down all 3 buttons for 3-secs.

BINGO the filters power right up and I set back my flowrate to MAX.

Evertime I lose power is this going to happen?! I almost had a heart-attack today. I thought I lost both filters from the damn lighting, (there plugged into a good surge protector)

Now I understand what people mean when they say, UHH electronic more things can go wrong.

Glad to hear you got them back up and running. I wonder if they make a backup battery big enough to keep both filters running incase of another power outage?
