Eheim Professional II - Canister Filter

Hi,

Everytime I turn the power off my canister leaks. I do not know why. I am not a very experienced canister user so if someone can please help me out on this one.

Where does it leak from?
You may just need a new gasket....There is a rubber gasket under the top of the canister, look at that, it may have a tear in it, be worn out, or it may just be crimped. That can cause the top to leak.

yeah, that's essential info. Please post, and there might be a very easy way out. Like "clean your gaskets"...

You probably need to replace the rubber ring in the head, like jen said. You can order them from almost all LFS.

My magnum350 started leaking one day and I thiught it eas just a gasket but after a closer inspection I found that the housing (cannister part) was warped! thats a real bummer.

if it leaks from the rim where the top meets the container the rubber might not be in the correct position

Ehiem IS the best.....If you want to try out another brand, I would suggest you try the RENA XP3....It is an awesome filter, and its not as expensive!

And I agree with the cannister man. I have all my pump equipment from eheim (4 x cannister, 1 x sump pump) and never had any problems in about 5 years of fishkeeping.
