I'm running two 2217's on my 90. It seems that no matter what I do to the return lines to the spray bars they get compressed restricting flow. Even when you use the plastic elbow that they provide, you can see that the hose is compressed. I was hoping to avoid buying $50 intallation kit 2's for it, plus they are hard to find in the US. Has anyone experienced this with theirs? Resolution?

Thanks all.

The pvc hoses supplied with many filters are often difficult to work with, due to their noncompliance. Whenever possible, I simply discard these hoses and fit my filters and pumps with Fluval corrugated tubing. It is easy to cut, highly compliant and a dream to work with.

If you´re in for cheap and nasty, take a piece of workable wire and wrap the wire around the return tubing in a tight spiral fashion. The metal spiral will hold the form of the tubing when bent into a curve. Don´t use copper wire where it will be under water.

+1 on the fluval tubing. Kind of pricey, though. The eheim return kit linked above works well, too & is relatively cheap. I have one on my 2217 with no issues.

I just have the "stock" spray bar/tubing on my 2215, but I don't have the kinking issues you describe.
