Eheim Troubles?!

I have a Eheim 2215. This specific one of my three with the issue, I got used from a petshop I use to work at about 1 year ago it was running there for years... Up until a few months it was working just fine. Now after running for a week or so (after being thoroughly cleaned) the water flow seems to be very weak. Pipes are not clogged, I cleaned them and cleaned impeller. What is going on? I have also removed media from filter thinking that maybe it was too packed , works initially but goes back to poor flow after a day or two. What can i do to remedy this issue? Love these filters.

Is there any slack in the hoses? I would check to make sure there isn't too much slack in them... Also something to try is to run the filter without any media in it for a bit to see if the problem keeps occuring. Don't do it long or have a plan to keep your biological media viable while you do this... with an air stone or otherwise.

You said you used to work at a pet shop. Thus, I am simply going to rule out user error (like kinked hoses, impeller assembly, etc).

You also say the filter is rather old. Depending on filter maintenance in its early years, you may want to try a new impeller. If badly neglected or 10+ years old, the magnets my have lost their magic.

Thanks I Do have some slack in hoses and i was considering the magnets too. Will cut hoses and observe. Then if necessary ill look into a new impeller. Thanks Guys
