Could some one please tell me why my Eheim 2229 is pushing water out of the breather pipe when it starts to empty. Not a continues flow of water just a spurt, should water be coming out of this pipe at all?
I've check that the piping is on correctly and nothing is obstructing the inlet & outlet.

:help2:

Thanks in advance

some times this has happened to me what i found was my breather was sucking in a bit of water from the edge of tank this was really noticable after water changes takes some time to clear up since the systm requires a suck first then stops.
Also i didnt design it but my thinking if its meant to hang on the back of the tank is that small amounts of water do get trapped between the cycles and build up having to purge eventually
Imo I think this is normal.

Thanks FISHNUTHAM, it worked the pipes are now the some length and it is working better than ever. Just to think I was on the brink of throwing it out :-)

My fishes are a lot happier and send there thanks, just to see the back of me and not seeing my hands as part of the decor in the tank.

Thanks
