Ehfisubstrat VS. Seachem Matrix

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Id go with matrix its a lot cheaper. If you got a bigger filter pond matrix is even cheaper than regular matrix.

There's always marketing hype one product versus the other. Even if Eheim was 20% more effective you could always add 20% more seachem and still be ahead money wise.

i like ehfisubstrat better but if ur saving the money go with matrix to the person said if eheim's was 20% better just buy 20% more matrix you cant add 20% more to a canister filter when its full its full

Who limited bio to only canisters? my point was that basically your tank will find its established bio load set point in a balanced tank. you cannot increase bio capacity beyond a tanks needs.

The bacteria only needs food and a place to attach itself too.

BTW canister full, you could mix it in with the gravel

i got the substrate pro im not that impressed with it.

:iagree: but I love the regular EhFi Substrat.

I have both, the EhFi Substrat Pro and the regular EhFi Substrat in my filters. The pro won't clog up as easily (i.e. at all), but the regular stuff will hold dirt back that made it thru my mech media, which IMO is an important function of a filter.
No experience w/ matrix.
