I have 2 Eheim 2028s filtering a 150 gallon tank. The new one has never seemed to work perfectly with sporadic bubbles and generally less power.
After cleaning the tank the other day I couldn't get the Eheim to prime itsself and the primer button was very tempermental. I cleaned & filled the hoses; lubed the internal o-rings, etc.; checked for impeller performance; checked the trays for alignment & blockage; filled up the Eheim and reattached everything. I tried restarting the system and noticed that the primer button would stick when the system was supposedly full of water ..... and should have been circulating. Turning the system off and detaching the hoses from the filter returned the button to its original position.
This is a simple in-out setup w/o a sprinkler bar rather, I employ the Emperor 400. I'm completely confused. The pump just doesn't seem to have the power to circulate. Any help would be appreciated.
