or

Fluval FX5 filter

Tank Size 700L

i agree. since the fx5 hasnt been out as long many say you cant compare because it needs time. i however am quite happy with mine as it has not had a problem since i got it. as for doing the job well lets just say i dont have to work as hard now lol it does all the work for me all the while you never hear a peep. i have to touch mine to make sure it is on.
 
eheim are the best if you dont mind spending the money

a eheim will last you 10yrs+

if you buy the fluwho make sure your LFS sell plent of spares for the FX5

the fluwho fx5 and the eheim pro3 have been on the market for about the same time i have hurd lots of people saying they have had problems but problems with the pro3 mmmm not sure if i have hurd of any
 
get the fluval mine works great and its silent to.
 
I personally prefer the 2262 to the 2080, but both are great filters, and both run in my home.
 
fx-5's are great for the money, eheims are higher quality so higher priceing.
 
I have both on my 225 gallon. They both work great, but you can actually feel the vibration from the FX5's motor on the ground. Also, the baskets fit loose, and overall fit/finish isn't as good. Its good for the money though. That said, I'll never buy another one since the Eheim has a better feeling of quality from its smooth, quiet motor and nicely finished plastic - I like details like that. I honestly can't say that it works any better than the FX5, its just that it seems to do it more gracefully....the only analogy I can draw here is like the difference between German and American cars. If money matters to you, get the FX5, if it doesn't, get the Eheim.
