Does anyone have experience with the new Pro 4? I have used the Classics for many years. They are a reliable and quiet but I have three 2217 on a 180 and it just inst cutting it and I doubt adding a fourth will do much for me. Just not enough flow and lousy mechanical filtration. I was thinking about getting 2 Pro 600's and keeping two 2 2217 on the see what that would do.

I would like a 2260/2262 however I do not have enough room under the stand for one. I never been a fan of the FX6, while I am sure it has its merits I am just not interested. My dream canister would be the size of the 2250 with a stronger pump.

I like to stick with bi-weekly water changes that's all I really need to keep my nitrates in check, however to keep the tank water nice and clear i need to do 50%-80% weekly changes. In comparison two 2217's keep my 75 pristine.

No clue about the Pro 4, but my Pro 3 (2080) is good for no more than my 75 gal.
Good luck.

New member here. Hello from Iowa.

Using a Eheim Pro 4+ 250 right now. (Purchased 2 @ $119. each off eBay- excellent deal!) 14" high canister. Only 2 baskets (deep) though. They have so much power for my 40 and 55 gal. tanks that I had to drill huge holes in the spray bar. Very easy to set up and clean. Did have to Vaseline the top seal as it sucked air. IMO, the 600 will be sufficient filtration. Note : the dark hose included could be a bit short for you, but looks nice in the tank. I used the Bio- Home Ultimate filter media instead of what comes with this product.

Hope this helps you.

You may not know, but on a 2262 you can slide the pump off its base and rotate it 90* and the output will be to the side instead of straight up. Saves a lot of height.
