I have a yellow lab with a mouth full of eggs but what makes it weird is that its the only lab in the tank. its actually the only fish from the continent of africa in the tank. Is it possible she bred with a south american cichlid? or are the eggs likely unfertilized?

Probably not fertilized. I've never heard of a SA hybridizing with an African...Doubt that's possible. Would be interesting if it were! I had a lab breed with a demasoni once. Really neat offspring!
Probably laid on it's own. These cichlids shouldn't be able to interbreed at all, given how far apart and different the fish are.
