Whats up MFK!
I wanted to start a thread where people could share there experiences with growing EBJD's...
If you have pics stories...I am interested in hearing everybody's growth rate, health issues, tank conditions, tank mates....
I am a big fan of "Ormed's" thread on cichlid-forum and we should have a similar thread here on MFK..when I get home from work I'll post pics...
:mwave: :feedback:

Im interested in hearing this too. Ive been wanting one when i can set up another tank. Ive found them for $40 at my LFS but im nervous about buying a fish that expensive if they are really fragile.

my experiences with EBJD.....

how every many years ago it was when I first started keeping cichlids (which came about 1-2 months after I got my very first fish) I did some research, and probably a year or so (and a few tanks) later I decided to place an order with Jeff Rapps. I got several fish from him including 2 small EBJD. Now, while I had done quite a bit of researching on the fish I was keeping, I hadn't done hardly any research on the cute albino clawed frog that my gf at the time just had to have, so I put the new fish in a 29 gallon tank with nothing other than the stupid little frog. Well, as you can probably by now guess the little frog was able to eat fish much larger than I expected he'd be able to, so that proved to be a very expensive lesson. So, my experience with them is very limited. :irked:

Here are my 2 EBJD's...
At the store I tried to select a male and female (best attempt I could using only finnage to decipher). They are growing out in a 55 with a ram, 2 angels and 8 sunset platies and 2 swordtails....
They are very active, I am soaking Hikari Pellets and getting them to feed on them as well as bloodworms, flakes and spirulina...
They love the planted tank theyh are in, weaving in and out of the stems..
