Hi everyone. I'm restocking my 180. Currently I have 2 oscars. a parrot and ornate bichir. I was at the lfs with wifey and saw some electric blue dempsies. They were about 2-3 inches and were for sale at $29.95. Is this a good price and how many and will they get along in the 180? Thanks, The Doctor.

At 2-3 inches that is the mid to low end of the price.. That price is steady. At 2-3" I would do it ;)

Will they get along with the other fish? Also, what's the maximmum amount I can get? Thanks, The Doctor.

Are these dyed or a naturally occuring morph?

there natural fish

if your oscars are big they will eat them
if your going to get them when there young they can get sick easily (because of the fish they are )
so many water changes / or uv sterilizer
this helps heaps i lost 4 due to ich...
and one died just the other day dnt knoe why either ?
when they get to bout 4"+ they will be right with out the uv sterilizer but keep up the water changes
these fish grow up tp 12" for males and a bit less for females
very beautiful fish my fav :)

good luck with them if your going to get them ;)

I see that you're from the Bay Area, CA, go to craigslist and type in cichlid, there are a bunch of 1-2 inch EBJDs for sale for like 12 bucks each.....

Cool, I'll check it out. Thanks.

If you are going to stock with others I would suggest getting all the blues your are wanting first!! And depending on size... Wait til they are larger to buy smaller fish.. Anything you buy that grows fast will likely out grow out compete and or kill the ebjds..

They are easily for the most part outcompeted for food by most other cichlids.. And once they feel threatened most seem to stop eaiting or eat very little.. So get them growing and used to the tank bein theirs in my opinion before adding to the stock.. JUST MY OPINION ;)
