Let me start of by apologizing if this is a stupid question but I only ask because the EBHA I had before never turned black, can't find anything on google and the LFS guy (reliable dude) said "it's not suppose be black at any point". So with that said...
I added an EBHA maybe 4 weeks ago or so after my last prized one got murdered overnight by a red shoulder. It was my favorite fish so I had to get a replacement. I got him small and silver with some blue shimmer on the face and body. He settled in good and after my first WC and rescape (with him in the tank) he found a nice little spot and setup shop. He started getting dark which I thought to myself nice he's coloring up. 3 or so days later he turned very dark, yellow stripe on dorsal and nice blue shimmer. I was surprised how fast he "coloring up" But now for about about 2 weeks he has been black with just a yellow stripe and seems to have lost all shimmer. Does anyone know if this is normal? He holds his spot in the pecking order and is no where near the bottom. Acts and eats normal but he is just black. Jet black. Any ideas?
