i got a question, there was a girl yesterday, talking abt her blue jack dempseys turning solid black and dying, she said she had tested her water levels for everything under the sun and all levels were normal and her last electric blue was starting to blacken, it really baffles me, anybody ever heard of this i havent...

I've had mine for a little over a year and its doing well however I've read many accounts on here of them turning black and dying

I have heard many go this way, though never experienced it myself

A lot of hybrids are fragile. Yeah they are nice looking but there always seem to be a draw back to hybrids. Maybe the gods are trying to tell us something.

I dont think EBJD are hybrids. But in nature, more often genetic morphism causes a lot of problems for the individual species. Albinoism, causes bad vision and a number of health problems even for humans.

EBJD aren't hybrids, however they are mostly inbred to all heck and extremely weak.

There are some good strains of EBJD out there that are harder to find and the fish are strong and healthy.
