so where i work at we received an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey. i dont know if i should buy him or not.. what do you guys think? he is around 1-2 inches. should i get him?

There are lots of posts on that subject. EBJD are weak and most of them don't pass the 2 inches lenght. It could be a tougher fish if it comes from a good breeder that did not just cross two EBJD. The fishkeepers who had success with them often recommend the use of UV sterelizers.
I once bough one, but it died for no apparent reason. I presently have a regular one and do not regret this decision.
