I got me a little Electric Blue JD about a month ago and its still really small. I was wondering what I can feed it to give it some quick growth. Thanks

electric blues are slow growers in general so even if you fed it very well your going to need much more to get alot of noticeable growth in a shorter period of time... meaning- there is more than just feedings that contribute to fish growth.

1. tanks size- bigger the tank-better for the fish
2. water quality-alot of filtration (mechanical and biological) plus alot of water changes.

these 2 are the biggest, next would come feeding, feed a food rich in protein 2-3 times a day (not alot in each serving). this is called powerfeeding it's been known as a good way to gain fish growth in a small amount of time (but does not give the fish much time to grow into great colors or features, so i personally don't like the idea of it.

hey, as far as feeding try Piscines Mysis shrimp, awesome food, but dont feed it to often, very high protein.

give the fish as much water to its self as possible and do large water changes thats the most important thing if you give the fish 20-30 gallons to its self then it should grow we'll foods like blood worms beef heart and a good quality pellet will help it grow

but sorry to say these guys grow incredibly slow

i was going to buy one but didnt have the money.... they are slow growers and only grow fast in tanks above 55 gallons. daily water changes are a must as they are so fragile

I have him in a 50 gallon, I have been alternitating beef heart, plankton, blood worms along with flakes. He also eats the shrimp pelets I drop in for the cory cats. I have another JD and he just seems to have grown a lot faster than this guy.
