i just bought some Electric Blue Leg Hermit Crab ytd but they seem like dont moving tht much and always stay together in a spot also i just found one is die. do i need to feed them seaweed? i havent add any iodine to my tank is this the problem?
You shouldnt need to add any iodine. There are pellets you can buy, they are callet Hermit crab food. Mine seem to gobble that up pretty quickly. How old is your tank? Is it still cycling? Hermit crabs are succeptable to high nitrites.
how did you acclimate the crabs? I normally drip acclimate all my inverts, heck to be honest I drip everything now a days, its just easier. tie a few knots in an air tube and drip it into a 5 gal bucket for a few hours. not much easier than that
also like king said, post your water params - ammonia, ph, nitrates, salt and temp for sure
my tank is only three weeks old. the sg is 1.024 the ph is 8.2 kh 11 temp is 76, i didnt check ammonia, no2 and nitrates yet. i didnt do dripping b4 i put them in my tank. i found one die again. plz help what can i do now?
Well, if your tank is only three weeks old your Nitrite is probably sky high because your still in the cycling process. You should have drip acclimated them. There is a possiblity they are all going to die. You could try doing a water change but this would make your cycle take alot longer. You should have waited about 3 more weeks to add and CUC yet.
