Hello everyone,

I took these few pictures last night. Over the last 3 or four days one of my rams belly has been getting bigger and bigger, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it is a female or male, and if it is pregnant or if it has bloat. The ram in question is in the first two pictures, you can see how swollen the belly looks.

I also took a picture of their aquarium. I have to take out the fake plants, and the anemone, and replace them with real plants, I am just stuck on what to buy. What kind of live plants are easy to take care of?

Any help with be great. Thanks.

did you feed it to much? lol i think the one in the pic is a male. plus rams lay their eggs on a flat surface then fertilize them

easy plants to take care of are java ferns java moss anubias..these plants do not need much light in order to grow

I had german blue rams, and have seen them spawn all the time, and the bellies of the females look just like this ram, right before spawning.

I am just worried, because I know I don't feed them alot, it is the only one out of the whole group that has a chubby belly. You can see in all my other pictures, all the other ones look just fine.

The only thing I dont get, is I know for sure it's got a boyfriend (he/she has paired up with the macho male of the group), so I hope its a girl, and not a boy ram, because that would be weird.

Your right, GBR and GR have pink bellies when they are ready to breed.

But the EBR do not have pink bellies when they are ready to spawn/breed.

it doesnt seem like female as most females for rams tend to be pink? but guess ebr are new so maybe im wrong?

i know another thing is they both tend to clean a surface means that they are ready to spawn right at the spot that they clean...i see my rams do tat and its true hope that helps or works
