I transfered my 5" electric cat 2 weeks ago into my 125 gal african cichlid setup.....................long story short....I have not seen him in 2 weeks since i dumped him into that tank.......Even at night w/ the flashlight........Are electric cats really that good at hiding, my synodontis and raphael cats are always scavenging at night??? but no elect cat?? Any ideas guys.................I dont seem to be missing any fry that i notice????

thanks........:( :( :irked:

Anybody:nilly: I am seriously thinking about tearing the tank up to look for my little buddy, but i would hate to lose some of my fry hiding in the rockwork?????

not to mention if hopefully he is still alive i really dont feel like getting zapped.......althought i will if it means finding the little guy.....

I think they are good hiders. If you dont see him by tommorow try to look for him. Maybe rubber gloves wont make the sting as bad?

Yeah I am thinking about doing a rearange tomm when i do my water change..........I'll let you all know!!

Hey, sorry I wasn't on to respond sooner, They are great at hiding; at the LFS where I bought mine it spent 99% of the time in the slate and didn't come out unless the owner moved the rocks around for me to see it and then bag him for me. I would say hes probably chillin under the slate/rocks somewhere and just fine although you might want to check if you have some big cichlids in there with him. At 5" the shock won't be that bad if he does it might sting a little bit but nothing worth worrying about just a little suprising when it happens. Keep us posted on when you find him and post of some pics of the littly guy in the big tank ~Trent

If you've got a 5" electric cat, I wouldn't be worrying about fry in your tank either.

If your fry are doing well, your cat is likely dead under a rock.
