i recently brought an electric catfish that's about 2-3 inches. i put him in a 75g tank with a small bichir,a 7 inch black ghost knife, angelfish, bamboo shrimp, zigzag eel and a knight goby. the goby, eel and bichir already got shocked.:ROFL:Will it damage my fishes permanetly with the shocks? And is it ok to put them together till the catfish reach 5 inch?

The catfish will eventually kill all of those tankmates, except the eel who may learn to hide from it. Eventually the eel too, probably at night. You are doing your tank a great disfavor by putting an electric catfish in it. They should have no tankmates. Zero.

I have kept them before and went through the same mistakes. I would not keep them again because I do not like having a tank for just one fish, but that is what they need.

At that size their shock isn't as bad.
When they get bigger it is enough to paralyze your fish to the point where they will not recover from it.
