how long can i keep one in a 120cms x Width - 36cms x Depth - 57.5cms tank ,found some for sale on the internet

This species eventually grows to be over 30" long and is known as one of the true "tankbusting" catfishes. Its ability to coexist with anything else is limited, but they are cool solitary specimens. There are smaller electric cats that are seldom imported, some reaching a TL of merely 10".

If you started out with one of the small 4" sausages you see in LFSs, you could get away with a 55 gal (sorry yank did the inches math) for about two years.
