Ok, had a lil guy in at work and figured what the hell. He is about 2 inches and tingles like licking a 9 volt (only noticed the shock when netting out, not planning on harassing him/her to get shocked.) But I saw on a thread somewhere on the forum was a display in Japan with an electric eel powering a Christmas tree. I don't want to go that far but I do want to somehow get a set of electrodes in there that I can watch the voltage/wattage or whatever spike. Or a set of LEDs on there that light up when he releases his charge. Figured it would be a cool tank in my dorm while I finish planning out the 125 for the fall.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

there is a machine that creates a high pitch when put in the water. all it is is a small voltage meter it measures to millavolts

Soooooo Ross. How often are we going about licking batteries, hmmmm???:D
Sure does explain a WHOLE lot!!:ROFL:

Haha, nice thought but I was hoping there was a way that I could just leave it in the tank and see it rather then hear it. That noise would just get annoying, lol.

Call the Baltimore Aquarium and ask what they did on the Electric Eel tank.

It's a simple way of testing them Jason. Someone as simple minded as you should have figured that out :D I'll be sure to let you lick a a car battery though, might jump start your thoughts tomorrow

But yeah, back to the thread. Ideas appreciated :D

Seriously, call Bmore Aquarium. I'll ask my father-in-law as well, he's an Electrical Engineer. Gotta go now but I'll probably be back on later.

Early is cool.
