electric catfish setup

hey guys, i am going to be getting an electric catfish in the near future. I am planning on getting one about 2-4 inches of size. He will be in a 20 gallon grow out tank alone. My question is what type of filtration do you recommend(i know they don't like current). Also how long do you think it could live in the 20 gallon before i move him to a bigger tank? If anyone has had experience with these awesome fish please share!

Filtration for a 20 gallon I would go with a AC HOB. As far as how long a E Cat will last in a 20g A couple of months depending on what food you will be feeding and how much you will be feeding. Be aware that they get big and you will need a sizable tank soon. Give your new E Cat a good hiding place, clean water, a varied diet, plenty of space and you will have happy fish. Keep in mind it is recommended they keep by themselves. Some people have had good luck with tank mates. I have not.
