ok folks...i just purchased a young electric cat. kept it b4...bt that was years ago. Can anyone here gimme a full diagnostic on their habits and needs?

hey bro.
they are very hardy, can get to around 2 feet plus in captivity supposedly.
never seen one past 45 inches.
basically eat anything.

ok...cool. thanks. by the way....how fast do the grow?

I had one about 20 years ago, I fed it small crawdads and minnows. It was about 10" when I got it and I don't know how old it was . After a year I was tierd of getting shocked and traded it off. It only grew about 1/2" in that year if I remember right.

they are like catfish x3. Catfish will eat themselves to death, until the stomach splits open. These guys go an extra mile to make it happen. do not overfeed him. they are also more active than you think and need a huge tan, as they can push 3 feet. (Unless you get the African Dwarf species but as far as I know they're identical.)
Good Luck!

Is this literally electric catfish? I mean with voltage and amps? or is this just a name because it is shiny? Sorry for the ignorance, but i am here to learn ^^

they are electric. not shiny, in fact, they look like a hybrid between dog crap and raw sausage.
Oh so true...
