Not that I was planning on actually doing this, but seeing a Electric cat in the store got me thinking...Do you think an Electric eel would be affected by the ECs discharge and vice versa? You can house multiple EEs together, so they must have some resistance to discharges from sources other than themselves...

Would make a good scavenger for my EEs tank lol.

I think the eel would kill the cat...Easily.

Ah, but why? ECs can generate almost as strong a discharge as an EE.

it sounds like a shocking combination :)

i would assume they wouldnt electricute each other do to the same body structure that keep them from killing them selves. but they may still fight

The eel is an apex predator, as apposed to the scavenger style of the cat. Not to mention the eel would outgrow the cat quickly.

all thought the eel can emit more voltage. i doubt it would kill the catfish might piss it off.

Exactly, it's the only scavenger that might survive! Plus ECs get pretty hefty themselves, record is 44 pounds of something.

They bite too....lol

Yeah, but no teeth, they just gulp things down.

I think what I'd be most worried about is them pissing each other off with conflicting EOD fields, like when you mix multiple gymnotiform knifefish species together,

The electric eel and the electric catfish weigh the same thing 22kg of adults in wild, the eel has more thin the electric catfish but more whots more potents shoks.
Perhaps they could be accustomed from small but it is beginner's supposition.
If they are not killed with electric discharges but perhaps one would escape from the other one instead of facing death, neither idea.
