Hello,

I am planning on purchasing an Electric Crocea Clam. I know inverts require the dosing of calcium, should I dose anything else? Also, Where in the tank should I place the Clam(sand, rock)? Does the Crocea clam require a large amount of flow ( it tells me a decent amount of indirect flow on the website but I would like input from people who have experience with Crocea clams)? Would I need to target feed it, I have bio-ball filtration, an AquaticLife 115 (30 gallon pump), 20 pounds of live sand and around 25 pounds of live rock?

Sand bed location - requires high intensity lighting like 7 watts per gal - alk @ 8-10, cal 500-550, mag 1250-1450,(Red Sea Pro is a good high Alk mix) target feed small meaty foods like baby Mysis and reef planktons weekly - clams are highly photosynthetic place in direct light

beware of dwarf angels and small clams - they might nip them to death - I lost 2 of them to a coral beauty

crocea cleams can also dwell in the rocks. target feeding is completely unnecessary when high lighting is present. I wouldnt really try unless you have metal halides or very good t5's
