Electric eel grow out.

Managed to get a score on eBay. A 10” electric eel for £12.50.

New species for me. I’ve caught them in the Amazon but never kept them.

Started him off in a 55g. Already eating chopped mussels. Have added some tetra which he has left alone so far. I’m hoping they survive. Actually quite nice to see them interacting.

Starting to settle in. So far he’s had some chopped mussels and the odd tetra.

Abit sulky this evening. Wondering if he’s got abit of white spot coming from shipping.

He’s showing itching signs. So tank treated with esha exit. Will see how he goes over the next few days.

What a fish though. Brilliant characters!

I think there are 3 sp. in the genus. The largest grow to around 7feet. I saw a large group of them in Suriname whilst in the jungle. The largest around 6feet. Average size around 4ft. That was expected in the aquarium so I read.
