I know they are not actually eels but I thought I would post it in this section anyways. BTW I'm thinking of buying a 15" EE.
I want to know the basic things on keeping one.
These are my question:
1. What's a good food for them and how ofthen should one be feed?
2. Good to keep one or more than one?
3. How ofthen should the water be changed and % wise?
4. If I need to catch one can I just use a regualar fish net? and the tank would be BB but if I need to get my hands in the tank what's a good way of going about that.
5. At 15" how fast will one grow?
Come on MFK help me out!:headbang2

Will eat anything meaty and and eat like a bottomless pit. This is the reason why I got rid of all three as the metabolism was very fast and they go hungry all the time. They will also swallow anything they can grab or trash them around till to small pieces.
2. Good to keep one or more than one?
Can be keep alone or more as I have got 4 of them before and they just chill and swim around the tank.
3. How ofthen should the water be changed and % wise?
Water change can depends on how much food you given them and your filter can handle the bio-load. They are messy eater and have big poops that can cloud your water fast if not remove right away.
4. If I need to catch one can I just use a regualar fish net? and the tank would be BB but if I need to get my hands in the tank what's a good way of going about that.
Get a rubber gloves that it's all the way to the shoulder. You can use regular large net with a long handle just incase it starts to splash around as they might touch your part of your skin if the handle is too short. Also again rubber always wear rubber gloves. Much easier using the bag to move them.
5. At 15" how fast will one grow?
How fast it will grow depend on the food you feeding it and how often it eats. My first 12" EE only took less than 5 months to get up to 28".

I think 125g 6ft should be good.

thanks king-el for thr info.

125 would not be enough. I'll say 250g would be good or anything with 30" min width but bigger is always better. You can go with 210 or 180 if space if the problem. They are very active fish and not really that flexible but still able to turn.
