Electric Eel

Anyone ever own an electric eel??

Some of the websites say they can grow up to 8 feet long. I think that would be an INCREDIBLE fish to own. Anyone have any experience with these monsters??

yeah? what size tank? these are TRUE monsters. anything that can and WILL get 8 feet long needs a gigantic home to house em in.

not to mention... adults can let out shocks of 600 volts

They are in a plastic container without filter nor heater. The water can't get higher than twice their length or they will drown. They are shallow pond dwellers like lungfish that don't breath in the water.
