If you know this already, sorry for posting again, however I did not know this and want to pass on the information in case it might help someone.Electricity went out at my home and my 220 gal, 110 gal, 75 gal and 55 are all fully stocked. I went running to the store to buy a generator, but could not afford the $700 for the "camping size" so I thought to go to the Camping store. Well it seems that all of the fisherman had already devised something called a portable aerator....complete with airstone, hose, hanger.....just add 2 D batteries! I bought 4.....at only $14.95/ea. hooked one up to each of my tank large air stones ........they have all lived for 26 hours until the electricity came back on. The D batteries would have lasted up to 30 hours until a battery change would have been needed.
I now have them all permanently attached to the side of each tank.....just in case...with fresh batteries nearby.
