I began treating my Electric Yellow Lab for Ich when I noticed he was rubbing himself on ornaments and the side of the aquarium, he never showed spots or anything and has always acted and looked extremely healthy. I have been treating him for over 11 days now with temp about 86 degrees and using the salt treatment. Today I notice he still rubs against surfaces occasionally but besides that appears perfectly healthy with a great appetite and everything, is it possible he does not have Ich and it's just a coincidence he is doing this? Or is there a high chance he has Ich?

bump. Is it possible this is not ich but just a coincidence? He shows no other signs and looks perfectly healthy, and is in a quarantine talk with an albino bushynose pleco which also shows no signs of anything wrong, I have been treating the tank for 2 weeks now with salt and temp around 86.

It is very possible. Most fish will randomly rub against rocks etc here and there which is normal to some extent.
As far as Ich goes. Increasing tank temps and adding salt will stop reproduction but it does not stop the Ich protozoan going through its life cycle meaning it should be visible at some stage. The fact that the Ich protozoan has yet to be visible suggest it may never have there to start with. I would cease treatment and just monitor things.

That makes sense I mean I never saw any white spots on the pleco or the lab, and the lab was rubbing himself on rocks for at least a week before I began treatment, and it's been two weeks now and besides the occasional rubbing on rocks everything else looks perfectly healthy..I guess I will consider ceasing treatment and just monitoring.
