Sorry in advance for not having pics. I bought an electic yellow ( my third one) which I just noticed had an egg spot on his/her fin. I have never seen this before on an electric yellow, is it something else or am I just uneducated? I thought it was a female electric yellow because the black band on her fin is very faint. Any ideas?

While Labidochromis caeruleus don't normally have too much for egg spots - it isn't unheard of. However, I still wouldn't use egg spots to determine sex in mbuna. Here's a wild caught Lab.

I think she is female because of her lack of black but he/she may just not be mature yet. Thanks for the info.

Usually around 3 inches i believe.

I have 2 females that sport a lot of black on all their fins. The only black that they don't have is the black bar in the eye. They look just like my dominate male but 2x smaller.

Ah well. I have three now so hopefully this new one is female. Pretty sure the other two are male because they hate each other.
