If you can get a good look check down her throat, even when my Johanni was only 2" I could see(barely) the eggs and soon fry in there. As for eating, depending on how many times your fish has spawned before, it probably will not eat. Once it has spawned a couple of times it will teach itself to eat while holding fry. Be careful not to change the water parameters to much or cause any stress to the tank as the female will eat the fry if she does not think it is safe for them. Also if you decide to move the mother before she releases the fry to a smaller safer tank or decide to move the released fry from the main tank use only water from the same tank they were spawned in or you will decrease the chances of their survival. Good luck and be checking in all the cracks and crevices, those babies will be tiny!
