I have always found the wiring on my tanks to be a total pain in the ***.

I always land up using a multi plug. (We use a 3 pin socket here) So I have some three pin plugs and some two pin plugs. I land up having a huge nest of wiring and adapters that always looks like crap and are a heath hazard around large volumes of water.

What have you guys done to get around this? Pics please.

I use a sump on my setups. 1 plug for the pump. 1 plug for the heater.

Nope. have lights in the room, not on the tanks.

I use a power strip with 6-10 outlets. I hang it up on one wall inside of the stand, to allow the cords to have drip loops. Then I either ziptie cords together,to pipes in the stand, or staple them (very carefully) to the inside of the stand. As long as you organize the cables well, you can keep them out of the way and not end up with a nest.

I also like to keep my pumps and/or heaters on a separate power strip than the rest of what's plugged in. That way, I just turn off a power strip to do water changes, then turn it back on, and don't have to mess with unplugging all the pumps and heaters seperately.

I wire my stand/tank much like you would a house. There are plugs under my tank in the stand wire to a single switch for my pumps. My heater and lights are plugged into outlets that are mounted on the back of the tank. I really think the first step in good wiring is to minimize the number of things you need to plug in.

wire a bank off plugs...i did 3 outlets to GFI in-case of leak
