I'm looking for some electronic valves that can be opened by applying voltage (and close when voltage is removed), but do not require a specific water pressure to work (unlike sprinkler valves).

Any thoughts?

I used them, by replacing them on appliances... not sure what you're trying to do.

If you have specs on what you need, your best bet is probably an appliance parts store.. guys there should be knowledgeable on all the different water valve solenoids available and can probably suggest something based on what you're trying to do.

We use solenoid valves for emergency oxygen at the fish farm where I work. When the power is on, they are closed; but if the power goes out, they open up, bleeding oxygen directly into the tanks. They are also programmed to release O2 if the dissolved oxygen drops below a certain value.

Search ebay for "Gravity Valves" and you'll find valves that only need very low pressure to open.

Dishwasher valves look promising. I'm trying to find manufacturer specs of one of them. I would be concerned that they aren't rated for continuous use, and it looks like they draw 28W when opened? Also it looks like the standard size for them is a 5/8" hose barb.
