Live Black Worms and other live or frozen foods

problem is i have other fish living with him, how ca i assure he gets any.. or do i gotta just feed the whole tank

i use a turker baster or eye dropper new!! not use and suck them up in there then put a little in front of him!

They're also nocturnal. Try throwing in some food after you turn off the lights.

agreed ^^^ . this is how i have always fed them , i.e. a hour after lights out . the ones i have had have never took flake , but take most types of worms ok , i would just defrost a block or two of blood worm and through in after lights out , he will start eating may just take a bit of time .

good luck with it

cheers col

If all fails you might have to give them a tank of their own. The other fish might bug them. Lots of places to hide during the day helps em' relax too. I had the same prob getting mine to eat.

get frozen bloodworms, and use those plastic worm feeder thingy and make sure your other fish are sleeping remember they are nocternal fish so they will be active when completely dark.

i found elephant nose are shy in the beginning but they become real strong character later. However most people kill this fish because they want to see it eat so badly they overfeed and pollute the water. if the elephant nose eats you will defininately be able to tell by the size of his stomach. It is quite noticable.
after they settle down you will be able to feed them during the day and they will not be shy to fight for their food.

ps dried stuff won't work in the beginning (well thats what i have experienced)

i had the same problem getting my peacock eels to eat... anyways im looking for some pretty exotic fish for a 55 gal any ideas just send me a message with their scientific name --thanks need some help here
