Elephant Nosed Fish

I am setting up a 35 gallon aquarium and I want to know if you think it's wise to house an elephant-nosed fish in there. I have read that they need 50 gallons. I also wonder if anyone has kept them how their temperament is, because I want him to live peacefully with dwarf frogs, though I know they are carnivores.
 
I had one in a 45 gallon with no problems...they are nocturnal be sure to give them hiding spots...cool fish good luck
 
I would say they need more room than that. I kept 3, they got huge, like over 8". They really only eat live or frozen food (worms mostly) so be prepared for that before you buy one.
 
Okay thanks for the advice. After a little more research on the dwarf african frog I see that they prefer very short aquariums like a 20 long. My 35 gallon is 18 inches tall so I think I'll pass on the african biotope. I think I might just go with a brackish tank. Maybe get two orange chromides and a figure 8 puffer. a lot of room for them and will both be fun and colorful fish to watch.
