The Kimbo loss probably hurt them. But Theyve been exposed to fixing fights where they paid guys more to fight a stand up fight and not to go to the ground and some other stuff. They got investigated for this.
 
I was looking forward to Shamrock vs Shamrock,thats what they were working on.Looks like its back to warehouse fights or maybe Bodog for Kimbo.
 
They closed down because they are garbage. They had no good fights. Arlovski was the only real fighter they had, and he wasn't theirs. Carano kept them afloat, after Kimbo's shine wore off. Not enough though. Not sure if UFC will do women's fights, I seem to remeber Dana not really caring for womens mma.

I doubt anyone picks him up btw.. If anything WEC I guess. I just don't see Dana taking him..
 
Kimbo was their life line. If this was the early 90's Kimbo would have been an alright fighter. But with the evolution of today's fighters along with the sport itself Kimbo was the worst choice as a showcase fighter. We all knew he was a great brawler that beat up guys in backyards and everyone seen what happens when Kimbo fought a real fighter "Sean Gannon". Now imagine that same fight with Gannon with out Kimbo's entourage stepping in everytime Gannon had the upper hand and you have a short fight with Kimbo getting choked out. Elite had a chance but they laid all their chips down on the wrong guy.
I'm glad to see the promotion and Kimbo gone....They were both bad for the sport.
 
I think someone still may pick up Kimbo though, because adding him to a card will most likely still get viewers. I don't know if he'll be the headline(thankfully), but he may show up again.
