Elliptical or treadmill ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good Morning Boss !

First of all, why the decision to buy either of the two ?

What's your purpose ?

Are there any existing injuries to be addressed ?

Perhaps U can assist me by answering and I will do my utmost best to answer it to your feedback :)

Cheers

Personally, I do the elliptical rather than the treadmill. Reason being...low impact on the knees and I'm a heavy runner. I feel like everyone can hear me with every step on the treadmill.

I vote treadmill, if you want a real workout. I feel like nothing happens when I use the elliptical, no matter how fast I go. Treadmill with incline is all you ever need.

The elliptical allows for less stress on the joints and it also gives you an upper-body workout. But, if you don't have joint-related issues, maybe the treadmill will be a good option. I kind of agree that a treadmill is a more vigorous workout. Also, if youre a runner, and you run outdoors, the elliptical might be a great crosstrainer. You would then, be getting upper and lower body workouts. Crosstraining is a plus.

I use ellipticals. I hate treadmills. If you don't feel like you're getting a good workout on an elliptical just crank up the resistance.

I always found treadmills to be the most efficient means of burning calories of those two options. Actually running is the best way to go, almost twice as efficient as bicycling but harder on your body. If you're just looking for cardio, it's really just a matter of what you prefer since both will effectively race your heart rate.
