Nice fish and good video. Get him off those feeders!;)

That is the plan. I just picked up some tilapia yesterday and I ordered some feeder tongs that will be in tomorrow. I plan on cutting up the fish in small strips about a half inch wide and two inches long and trying to wiggle it around in front of him and see if he bites. Unless there is a better method to it?

One question as well, it may be kind of hard to see in the videos, but it appears he has two white dots on his adipose fin, between the dorsal and tail fin. He also has some shiny specs on his body. I thought it might have been ich (these have been on him since I've got him.) I raised the temp to around eighty two and added aquarium salt but they still remain. I've had him almost two weeks. If it was ich, with that temp they should have fallen off in about 4 days so I don't think that is it. So are these normal or is there a reason for concern?

Don't worry about the spots for now. Cross that bridge if you start seeing more.

I haven't tried the tongs but I get the feeling that may be difficult. One of the reasons it's hard to get young serra to eat prepared foods is that it doesn't give any kind of chase for them. One method I've used to help is a steel leader from my fishing tackle box. I'll jab the clip through the section of fish fillet and clamp the other end to the rim of the tank. Making sure the food item is hanging half way to two-thirds to the bottom, I'll also make sure that the water movement from the powerhead blows it around a little. Usually works pretty good.

Well those two spots on his one fin there going on three weeks, no more have showed up so I'm not sure what it could be, maybe just some kind of marking?

I fed him his first frozen meal. I picked up some vitamin enriched silversides from the LFS. The elong has grown maybe a half inch or so since I've had him (about 4" now) and the silversides are about 3", so a little bit big but it should feed him well. I tried using the tongs and it didn't seem to scare him off. He took a few jabs at it while in the tongs and then I dropped it in for him. He didn't devour it down but is making small rounds on it. I'm going to leave it in over night and if there is anything left in the morning, I'll remove the wa
