On Monday I was at my LFS, and they just got a shipment from Peru. Rather than waiting, I bought it right away. Now it doesn't eat and is always hiding. What can I do? My parameters are all good and I tested them monday.

just give em time and maybe leave the lights off more. they take a while to settle into a new environment.

Fresh tilapia and silversides.

Maybe try some live food, I know its not the best but it might help him settle in.

Aquascape told me to keep trying dead foods because it is a good time to switch him to dead foods(he was probly eating live in Peru) but if he shows weakness from hunger to try live foods.

Did you get them from Aquascape? how big is the elong?
with serra they often won't eat rightaway, need to give them sometime until they get more comfortable.
just let them give use to the tank for few days then try again. sometimes they won't eat until they think there's no one watching so you might have to leave the food in tank for a bit. depends in size and condition of the fish they can go some time without eating so I wouldn't too worry about it.

sounds right, dont panic..You need to keep up the frozen, dont switch. Try using a thin fishing line with the silver-side and move it a little??

I use a clear feeding stick, closest thing I have to a feeding stick
