Okay, so a friend of mine is getting out of the hobby and decided to get rid of this guy. He is about 4 inches. He has offered to give me this guy. I have red bellies so I have bit of experience with pygos but none with serras. The only extra tank I have kicking around is a 30 gal. I have read quite a bit about these fellows and realize that they need lots of space ideally about 100 gal and lots of current. Do you think I should take him, it is quite tempting but I know I wont be able to upgrade for about 6 months. The tank is equipped with about 250 gallons worth of filtration and I will be doing bi-weekly water changes.

you would probably be okay, itll probably take long enough to need the 100g by the time you get it. just make sure you can upgrade the filration and everything else too. sucks having a bigger tank and waiting to have everything for it(cant set up my 125 till i can buy a canister)

haha well it' more so the fish is very active and i don't want him bumping around in say a 75 gal. Biggest elong I have seen is 9 inches.

I am starting to get confused. Do you mean gallons per hour?
