Looking at getting a small Elongatus and growing it out. Has anyone had one of these before?
Right now I have a 5 inch Rhom that is absolutely beautiful, but not all that active, he normally sits in the back of the tank all day, I have heard that Elongatus are a bit more active. I know each fish has a different personality, but generally speaking, are Elongatus somewhat active?
I would be growing it out in a 4 foot 55 gallon.

I just picked up a little one (3.5") a couple of weeks ago. He was eating the first day I had him in the tank. He used to hide in the corner when I had a bunch of decorations there, but I took everything out and planted real plants and driftwood. He now roams the tank like he's the king and doesn't hide at all. Pretty aggressive, too.

I highly recommend an elong.

55 will be fine for a small one . Get a strong power head in it with dead spots for it to rest .

I have a 6" he is great it took him awhile to come out of his shell and become outgoing but now that he has awesome. It was about 3 months for him to get acclimated and lose the shyness.
