So my tank has been dealing with something elusive for some time now. It's been so minor that at times I've thought that maybe there hasn't been any disease or parasite at all. I had some itching occur a few weeks back with some newer fish and chalked it up to them being sensitive to the hardness in my water since I do not use RO water. The itching subsided quickly and I even added some almond leaves a couple days ago. Besides the flashing I haven't had any symptoms in my tank except occasionally I saw some clear stringy poop. It wasn't often and since everyone has been very healthy and not showing any symptoms, I figured it was due to possible constipation since it usually occurred in my more gluttonous fish. I added Prazipro for safe measure since it's a mild treatment.

But then last night my green terror pooped a very solid white poop. It wasn't broken up at all and it was thick and maybe 2 or 3 inches long. He's never exhibited any symptoms or even itching and has been growing insanely fast. He has been one of my gluttons and had what looked like an irritated intestine at one point (small white part sticking out after feeding) and has pooped those white "links" in the past which is why I added the Prazipro. What is this parasite and should I do anything besides continuing Prazipro? I don't want to take any harsh measures yet since everything else in the tank has been fantastic.

You can always add a little Epsom salt in the tank. I do some every few weeks. My severums used to do it when they were younger. Possibly soak food in Epsom salt as well it does well for digestion. I've had other chiclids. From my experience I ran into that with flowerhorn, Texas, Green Terrors, Geos.

I've been having that same problem for a while now. not all fish get sick and some that do get well while a few died. Just this morning I found my white oscar dead after 5 days of having thick white feces. Last 2 days I've been changing 50% of the water in the tank. One of my GT's had it couple of months ago for few weeks (clear stringy feces) but got well after i switched to hikari ( probably cuz it has garlic extract ) I believe it's not parasitic but actually a bacterial intestine infection. I have no idea how to cure it although i've been playing with some antibacterial pills

I think Epsom works great. I've also used metrodinizole mixed with there food.
