ember tetras

but they have these little guys at my petsmart right now and I think they would be lovely in a 10 gallon.
Anyone have any personal experience with them?
they stay little bitty don't they?
are they fragile like cardinals and for me neons?

They stay small at 1.5 inch. A 10g can support 10-12 of these well enough and are hardy in fact. Good luck.

well I have to wait until friday to get any, so hopefully they will still have some, Im going to put them in my HEAVILY planted 10 gallon , i'll have to pull some plants out to make room for them but they should enjoy having lots of plants and a tank to themselves.

They're an awesome, very small tetra...not commonly seen, either. IME, they're very hardy, and they DO look great in a planted tank. That's where I've got mine.

I thought the embers stayed a bit smaller at about 1" max? And I had thought about getting them for my 10g, but decided on pygmy cories instead

With a 10g, you can try both.

how about 10 ember tetras and 4 oto cats in a heavily planted 10 gallon,

or 8 ember tetras only in a planted 8 gallon eclipse.
