i came home today and was feeding one of my cic tanks when i noticed that there were around 40-50 eggs sticking to one of the rocks!!!the only occupants of the tank are a 4in GT and a 5in emerald cichlid...i didn't even notice that they had paired, i actually though i had 2 females, the emerald cic is hovering near the eggs, so i think the GT is a male. has anyone had any experience with this combo??? i've raised quite a few spawns of convicts, but those are pretty easy. also, any idea of how these guys will look when mature?

no idea.. but are you sure the eggs are even furtile... if they becom fuzzy in a few days they arent any good
Yeah, I would assume its a 'false' spawn. Females will often lay eggs without a male present (strong instinct), and after a couple days, I bet you don't see them any more.
yeah, like you guys said, the eggs are starting to change color and fall off the rock. too bad, would have liked to see what a GT/emerald cic looks like.
its like youve said about a strange combo like that my salvini had "paired" up with a mayan cichlid, the mayan laid eggs then they just fell off never happened again
would have been interesting though
