My Temensis just ate a pretty big cichlids. Could he die? He looks really uncomfortable. Should I try and pull it out?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do not know , but if you pull it out there might be a chance of it dorsal fin spines hurting it even more got to let someone else anwer this for sure

what he eat? i big black con? how big was the cichlid and how big is the fish?

The temensis is about 7 inches or so and the cichlids is about 2 inches. The problems is that the cichlid is oval shaped, not elongated. I put the cichlids in about a month ago, but because they are so aggressive they have managed to survive this long. The problem now is that they've grown.

I've had this same problem a number of times, i wouldnt pull it out. I'm sure there are some experts on here that can give you the best solution, but I've found that letting the fish digest the con on its own is best. My pbass have eventually spit out the snack which was 2-3 inches after an hour or so.

hmm, did he take it head first or tail first? kind of a stupid question, but it helps problem solve

Give him some time, you might do more damage if you pul it out. I had the same problem with my GT when it decide to eat one of his convict tank mates but he eventially spat it out.

if it was head first do not pull it out cause as you pull on the tail that is going t make the convicts dorsal erect up and its spines will stab into the T's mouth and could damage it pretty badly and or kill it ........ I know it is stressfull but got to try and stay calm
