I just glanced at my tank and my electric blue and gold jack dempsey is lying on the bottom of the tank kinked to his left side. I thought he was dead but when I looked at him he still moving his mouth and trying. I tried to move him with my net and he didn't (couldn't) wriggle. I've seen fish die they almost always wriggle. Nothing is moving but his mouth, I think he's paralyzed or in a state of.

What can I do?

forgot to mention my h20 levels were just about perfect four days ago, defiantly nothing to worry about, I'm running tests right not too.

weird, bad news i dont think he will make it! but you never know.

Are there any tank mates that may have gotten too aggressive with him? I recently lost a very nice Maylandia male that was the same as your JD. Water tests all showed perfect and I didn't have any other fish showing signs of stress. I finally had to assume one of the other males didn't appreciate his colors.

Hope your's is OK! Good luck!

Did he die with his mouth open? I have been told that this usually means heart attack or stroke. Not sure how true that is. It could of been anything. Especially if your water parameters were good and you did water changes. Sux losing a fish

yeah I was about to say that.

any decor fall down. he may have gotten pinned?

So sorry you lost him. Sometimes they just die, Im sure they can have cancer, have a heart attack, things we can't physically see.
