I need to isolate one of my fish out of my 36 gallon, he got mutilated last night. I don't actually have a whole new tank setup so I cant just move him. I do have a 1.5 gallon and three different gravel vacs, I also have multiple air pumps and lots of tubing. I was hoping to try to jimmy rig it so I had one vac going into the 36 and one going into the 1.5, however due to placement and the water needing to flow up or sideways that did not work. I can have the 1.5 either slightly higher than the 36 or a foot below it. Does anybody have any ideas on how I could make this work. Please post any ideas you have. I really just want to get the poor little guy out of there.

Thank you

What about using a tank divider? You can buy these at your LFS or create your own from other materials--usually plastic, like what you see under florescent lights.

You could use a cup to take water from the 36 and pour the water into the 1.5 gal instead of using the vac.

10 gallon tank will cost you about $14
